5 common dreams
The Penguin Dictionary of Psychology definition of a dream: "A train of hallucinatory experiences with a certain degree of coherence, but often confused and bizarre, taking place in the condition of sleep and similar conditions."
Dreams have been said to be a universal language; it isn't uncommon for people from different cultures and all walks of life to share common dreams. People have reflected on the meanings of dreams for centuries. In some ancient civilizations dream were believed to be the human's connection to the spirit world. The Greeks and Romans believed dreams to be foretelling. In the end of the nineteenth century Freud and his pupil Carl Jung presented new ideas on dreams, their purpose and meanings.
"I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?" - Zhuangzi
5 Common Dreams Interpreted
2. Flying
Traditionally dreaming of flying is looked at in terms of sex and sexuality but it can be more accurate to approach it as having to do with lack of reticence and freedom.
If you are ascending in flight, this represents coming into a place of spiritual gratitude of life. Descending in flight is to be delving into the subconscious seeking understanding.
Freudian suggested that floating has to do with sexuality but in all likeliness it is connected to the need for freedom.
3. Being Chased
Many dream experts site this as being one if not the most common dream.
This most commonly is a reflection on the dreamer trying to deflect responsibility, one's impression of failure, or the fear of big emotions.
Being chased by shadows is the need to break free from repressed trauma. Running from an animal commonly represents the need to connect with one's passion.
